Addressing Poverty – Developments at the Local, Provincial, and Federal Level

Addressing poverty is a complex challenge requiring both targeted and coordinated action across levels of government, in addition to knowledge to guide and evaluate the interventions that are implemented. Recent developments suggest a shared prioritization of this issue, with ambitious goals to reduce poverty levels within the federal and provincial poverty reduction strategies as well as the ongoing development of the Central Okanagan Poverty and Wellness Strategy.

The overview is intended to be a brief, non-exhaustive, semi-chronological guide to existing and planned data and policy on addressing poverty, at a federal level, at a provincial level within British Columbia, and at a regional level within the Central Okanagan.
